Okay I've narrowed down what the problem is. It doesn't appear to be a frequency/channel type issue because I can see the network just fine, I only can't connect to it. In the absence of a more detailed error message, I am at a loss on what to do. I don’t think the issue is with the router, because my mobile phone can connect to the 5G network with no issue.

I can see the 2.4 GHz network from the router and can connect to it with no problems. I keep getting the error message, “Unable to connect to this network” (Windows doesn’t give any more specifics than that so I am having a hard time debugging this).

Motherboard: ASUSTeK Computer INC.I have recently installed a new WiFi card in my PC but I am unable to connect to the 5 GHz network from my router. Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 5700 Series, 1024 Mb Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 2.80GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 30 Stepping 5 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 10 Home, 64 bit Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.4 I contacted Asus again and asked for a date to have a updated driver but they can't tell. When I contacted Asus they put the blame on Windows latest update, and when I contacted Microsoft the put the blame on Asus and that they must update their driver. That's strange, because I see it on my laptop running Windows 10 and on my iPhone and iPad. I have a Asus PCE-AC68 wireless card and can connect to my router TG799vacxtream on 2.4GHz, but I cannot see the 5GHz.
